2023 EVENT
Race Date Sunday 26 February 2023.
Race Start Times:
- 06h30 – Kilimanjaro Premium Lager International Marathon (42.2km)
- 07h00 – Tigo Kili Half Marathon (21.1km)
- 07h30 – Grand Malt Fun Run (5km)
Start / Finish Venue
MoCu Stadium, Sekoine Road, Moshi, Tanzania.
Race Entries
On-line entries are full. Space available in the 5km Fun Run (limited space) – enter at Race Number Collection venues
Distances will be 42.195km (full marathon); 21.0975km (half marathon) and a 5km (fun run). There will be limited race entries available in each category of race which will be announced when entries open.
The race routes are measured by a qualified ‘Course Measurer’ for World Athletics.
Enter Early. Obtain your guaranteed entry via one of our Travel Packages – this will INCLUDE a guaranteed race entry of your preferred distance.

ROAD CLOSURES
The following road will be closed to traffic on 26 FEBRUARY 2023 to enable the safe operations of the Kili marathon
SOKIONE ROAD – from KCMC to corner of Kilimanjaro Road – 06h00 – 09h30
Alternative routes to Moshi via Shanty Town and Rau, and to Mweka.
KILIMANJARO ROAD – to corner of Kilimanjaro Road and Sokoine road
From 07h45 to 09h30 ………
This will allow runners to get to the event parking at CCP and Mocu rarking via Uru Road gate in time for all race starts, and then be closed to allow runners free access.
MSOKA to MWEKA ROAD via KIBOSHO
This will be closed BOTH WAYS from 06h30 – 08h30
PARKING
There is NO PARKING on Sokoine Road from Kilimanjaro Road Corner – vehicles will be towed away by Police.
There is free parking at CCP – access via Kilimanjaro Road, and a pedestrian gate right to the start of the HALF
Free shady parking in MOCU grounds, access via URU ROAD only. It is a 5 minute walk to the start of the HALF, FUN RUN ……..2 minutes to the start of the FULL.
TRAFFIC CONTROL
Police will be controlling traffic along the whole route, from 06h00 – 12h30. Motorists are asked to drive slowly and carefully, and be aware of runners. Where possible, it is suggested that trucks, piki pikis and busses avoid the marathon route, as they may be pulled over for long periods. Anyone, including Piki Pikis found driving dangerously will be arrested.
Race number collection:
The full (42km) and half (21km) marathons have reached capacity. See below for opening times for your Race number collection and what you need to bring. You must collect your Race Number from the venue you selected on your entry form. If you are collecting for another person, you need copies of their ID/passport and their permission to collect on their behalf.
There is still space in the 5km fun run, which you may enter at one of the below venues.
DO NOT swap or buy someone else’s race number. It is against Race Regulations. Both the seller and buyer will be banned from future events.
You must bring your ID / passport / proof of residency or work permit to collect your race number. If you are collecting a race number for someone else, these documents must be provided for ALL ENTRIES / PERSONS. If you are not a Tanzania Citizen, but have paid on TigoPesa a lesser amount, you will be required to pay the balance at Race number collection.
Dar-es-Salaam:

Arusha:
- Tue, 21 and Wed 22 Feb 2023
- 2pm – 7pm (14h00 – 19h00)
- Venue: Kibo Palace Hotel
Moshi:
- Thu 23 Feb 12 noon – 5pm (12h00- 17h00)
- Friday, 24 Feb 10am – 6pm (10h00 – 18h00)
- Saturday, 25 Feb 9am – 5pm (09h00 – 17h00)
- Venue: MoCu Stadium, Moshi
PLEASE NOTE no race number collection is allowed after hours or on race day – ensure you collect your race number prior to that. If you can’t collect your own race number then you may send a friend with a copy of your ID, along with a copy of their ID and an official letter on your behalf stating that they may collect for you. Bring your proof of payment, or email / reference number when collecting.
Please ensure you collect your race number at the correct venue as you indicated on your entry form.
