Deborah Harrison
- The jack of all trades, but master of none. From a camera woman on route, filming the fun run through to being the commercial partner to the event and the sponsors in terms of the sponsorship elements and branding, to managing the production budget and packing goodie bags, she’s touched on it all.
- Part and parcel of the event since inception in 2003. Loves Tanzania, the culture, the wild life and the beer!!!
ACTION PHOTOS STILLS PHOTOGRAPHY CREW & DEBBIE ADDISON
- Over the years we have employed a number of talented photographers, who are up early and in position, ready to take those iconic pictures of athletes as they enjoy the day. For the last two years we have been working with THE ACTION PHOTOS SA TEAM who have a sophisticated method of linking your race number to your picture, making it easy to source images of yourself, and your friends, on race day. Our photos are included, free of charge, thanks to the generous sponsors. When you see them on the route – smile, wave, jump, or give us the thumbs up if you are having fun! We take literally thousands of pics during the event to share with you all.
Annalie Bothma
- Our very adventurous and talented camera lady. She was the only woman in a predominately male industry for a long time, especially when it came to filming marathons off the back of motor bikes. Nerves of steel and a very steady hand. Always getting the unexpected shot, from a close up to an awesome Slow Motion sequence, she is brilliant.
- Annalie is a mother of 2 and runs her own successful photography business in Harties.
- On our productions, Annalie normally follows the leading ladies in the 21km event, as one needs a sharp eye to pick them out of the male running packs and a great talent and skill to not lose focus or track of them.
Lourens Human
- The pillar of our Kilimarathon productions. Lourens has been with us since inception in 2003. His original career was as a Flight Steward aboard long haul airlines, and then he discovered his creative and talented side and took up camera work full time.
- Having traveled all over Africa on numerous shoots, he’s climbed Kili, rafted down the Zambezi, sat with Gorilla’s in Rwanda and fished in the Nile. He is also not afraid of having a few cold lagers after a long hard day in the sun.
- Lourens is normally our Lead Women’s cameraman on the Full Marathon. He tracks them round the entire route and then heads into the stadium to do the sponsors and winners interviews.
- He has started nurturing and passing on his wonderful skills to his son, who is following in his footsteps and doing some amazing camerawork too.
PIERRE VAN ZYL
- Camera man, editor rolled into one. Pierre is a regular face at the likes of Two Oceans Ultra Marathon, Sani2C, JHB2C, TransCape and The Epic Mountain Bike Races, he has also made and appearance at The Victoria Falls Marathon – welcome on board.
MIAS STEENBERG
- Mias is an editor, producer and technical guru with over 21 years experience in the industry. Nothing is too much of an effort for him, always the biggest smile, the most enthusiasm and an abuncance of energy!
PAUL RAILTON
- Based in New Zealand now days, but who has filmed numerous races for us – he now managed the ‘edit’ along with the script and voice overs of our video production, ensuring we have a great ‘vibey’ production and AV from the event.
LEON HUMAN
- Father and son duo in the form of Leon and Lourens always makes for an entertaining shoot. Extremely talented cameraman as he was taught by the best – his dad. Creative and authentic in his work, always gives a different perspective and angle!
KILIMANJARO PRODUCTION SUPPORT CREW
- Every year we are privileged to be joined by a number of local film makers, and bike riders, to help us with this mammoth task. We draw on this local ‘family’ each year, who gladly get up super early on race day to help us make our production. Thank you to our team in Samson [Cameraman], Enos [Fixer], Peace [Drone], and our amazing team of bike riders who have been with us for 22 years – Bashire, Saba, Hayman Aiman Sajan, Alfa and Gadson!
