The Kilimanjaro Project

THE KILIMANJARO PROJECT – TREE PLANTING INITIATIVE IN THE KILIMANJARO REGION

This year the Kilimanjaro Marathon is proud to support The Kilimanjaro Project, a large tree planting initiative in the Kilimanjaro Region.  The project kicks off as an Earth Day initiative in April 2018, to plant ONE million trees on the foothills of Kilimanjaro.

This is the start of a 50 million tree program over the next decade!

Many of you runners who have returned to the marathon year after year would have seen the effects of climate change, with less rainfall in the region, higher temperatures and the glaciers on the mountain disappearing.

We’re supporting this exciting and worthwhile initiative and ask all our runners to join us!  There are different ways to get involved.

  1. DONATE  through the crowdfunding site here
  1. JOIN THE CAMPAIGN

Or, through the site you can set up your own mini fundraiser (see the link) here

  1. GET YOUR GREEN ON

On the day you can run in green in solidarity or design your own crazy outfit.

We’re offering great prizes for most money raised by individuals!

Please share with your friends and get people involved!
