The Kilimanjaro Premium Lager Marathon is excited to announce a new opportunity to individuals and corporate teams participating in the 2019 Marathon event.
As part of the event’s official “Mbio ya Watu – The Peoples Race” campaign, participants will soon have the opportunity to make their event experience and run even more meaningful, by being able to run for a good cause
Following a growing trend globally, more and more race participants consider fundraising for charity an important part of their race, as it provides an easy yet powerful vehicle to help them do their bit for society. In addition, it serves as constant motivation when training for the race, as well as on the day of the event.
John Addison, the Race Director says, ‘While our events have always been enjoyed by participants, we feel strongly about empowering runners to give back to the local community.
For the 2019 event, Kilimanjaro Premium Lager Marathon is partnering with a local charity, The Kilimanjaro Project.
In 2017 The Kilimanjaro Project took the first steps towards a massive reforestation project around Mount Kilimanjaro. The goal is to plant one million trees in 2018 and fifty million trees over the next ten years! This is all in an effort to improve rainfall in the region and combat glacial ice retreat on Kilimanjaro.
