2025 Route Maps
Below are the route maps for our 2025 Kilimanjaro Full Marathon, Half Marathon and Fun Run.
Please look for the MARKERS ON RACE DAY and listen to the marshalls.
Full Marathon Route
The 2025 Kilimanjaro Premium Lager International Marathon will start at 06h30 in the MoCU stadium, and will tackle the uphill first – eg up towards the mountain with approximately 290m altitude gain in 8km – before coming back down. This allows the marathon runners (42k) to complete the ‘up-hill’ in the first part of the race, in the cool of the morning on fresh legs! It should also mean less congestion for both events on the small dirt road section between 8 and 10 km.
The route is similar to the HALF marathon, until approximately 19km mark, where the full marathon breaks away – turning right up past the Moshi Club and over the Old German Bridge and then looping back along the same road, to wind down the beautiful avenue of shady trees before turning left and back into the stadium.

Half Marathon Route
The 2025 Yas Kilimanjaro International Half Marathon will start at 07h00, at MoCU Gate, Sokoine Rd, towards the mountain. The route is the same as the FULL marathon until around 19 km mark.
It starts uphill with approximately 290m altitude gain in 8km. At about 8 km, the route follows a dirt road for about 2 km through some farms and schools, before joining Lema Road, and the long downhill back to the Finish in the stadium.
