The race has been measured as 42.2 km, a standard marathon, and is being run on tarmac roads
with a short section at the end on gravel. The race will be run from the town of Moshi, located on the slopes of
Mt. Kilimanjaro - ascending approx 300 metres in altitude towards Mweka with the finish line back in Moshi. The
half marathon takes place over the second half of the full marathon route, ie from the stadium towards Mweka.
Kilimanjaro Marathon reserves the right to modify any part of the route as a result of circumstances beyond its'
control.
Refreshment stations providing liquid refreshments will be provided along the route at ± 4 km intervals.
The competition is open to persons 21 years and over, half maraton - 18 years, fun run 10 years.
The race is being run under the auspices of the Tanzanian Amateur Athletics Association TAAA and the IAAF rules
will govern this event
REGISTRATION
Registration will take place at the Keys Hotel, Uru , Moshi on: Friday 29 FEBRUARY and Saturday 01 March
2008 from 10h00 - 17h00. No late entries will be accepted.

SECONDING
No mobile seconding of any description will be allowed on the route. Runners are allowed seconding within a
distance of 100 meters either side of the official refreshment stations.
Aid stations will be withdrawing from the route after a relative time calculated on the 6hr cut-off.
PASSPORTS, VISAS, VACClNATlONS, AND INOCULATIONS
Make sure that your passport is valid for international travel, and that it will be valid until at least three
months AFTER you return from Tanzania. The responsibility for the provision of current and valid passports, visas,
vaccinations and inoculations, where required, is that of the customer alone and Kilimanjaro Marathon Club and
Wild Frontiers (Pty) Ltd shall not be responsible or liable for any consequence of any nature arising from the
entrant failing to ensure that he or she has complied with all such requirements.
Visas
Most nationalities do require a visa for entry into Tanzania as well as Kenya. Visas are normally obtained
on arrival, but PLEASE ENSURE YOU CHECK FIRST AS THIS MAY VARY FROM PASSPORT TO PASSPORT. A fee will be levied
in USD cash on arrival.
Inoculations
Yellow Fever is compulsory for all East Africa Countries - and whilst it may not be requested on arrival,
you will generally be checked upon return to your point of departure. Please ensure you carry a valid certificate
with you.
Health - other
Anti-malaria prophylactics should be taken.
For other diseases, please check with your local Health Authority as to up to date requirements.
PRICES
The price does not include personal items, beverages, meals not included in the itinerary, telephone calls and
any items not specifically stated in the marathon itinerary or package tour purchased. Prices are quoted at the
ruling daily exchange rate. Until full payment has been received, we reserve the right to amend the price due to
ROE or other fluctuations beyond our control.
However, once full payment is received, the price is guaranteed.
BOOKING AND PAYMENT
A deposit per participant is required with booking. We reserve the right to cancel any entrant if payments are
not received on time as laid out in the "Pricing Schedule". A detailed deposit and payment schedule is
laid out in the "Pricing Schedule".
International Guests - all payments should be made to WILD FRONTIERS (PTY) Ltd
Regional entrants (ie Tanzania / Kenya) should be payable to Keys Hotel based in Tanzania.

CANCELLATION
Race Entrant Fee cancellation policy:
Full amount will be forfeited for the race entry alone.
Tour Package and Travel arrangements policy is per Wild Frontiers terms and conditions.
INSURANCE
Travel insurance is available from Wild Frontiers at an additional cost. This is compulsory for all foreign
(i.e. non-Tanzania) residents who book a travel package with Wild Frontiers.
RESPONSIBILITY
Kilimanjaro Marathon Club is responsible for arranging and providing the services during the marathon.
Wild Frontiers is responsible for tour packages purchased via their terms and conditions.
ITINERARY VARIATIONS
While every effort is made to keep to all published itineraries, we reserve the right to make changes for your
convenience. In some cases, weather conditions can necessitate an alteration in the event itinerary and this does
not constitute any reason for refund. No refund for unused services will be considered. Kilimanjaro Marathon Club
reserve the right to correct printing errors or omissions at any time, unaffected portions will continue to remain
valid.
JURISDlCTION OF THE MARATHON
Kilimanjaro Marathon Club and the customer expressly agree that the laws of Tanzania shall govern this agreement
and any claim made.
