21.1 km Kilimanjaro Half Marathon Route       Download map The route starts and finishes at the Stadium at the Cooperative College, Moshi. Start time 07:00 - 02 March 2008. Leaving the College gates, the race turns right up the road to Mweka. This is the second half of the Kilimanjaro Premium Lager Marathon route and facilities and services are the same. From here it is a long uphill pull for 10 kms on the road to Mweka College - rural trading stores, bars etc. mark the first section, before we head out into coffee plantations - with great views of Kilimanjaro (if clear).You gain about 300m in altitude here - from 800 to 1100m amsl. Turning at about 10 km point, it is now a fast downhill back to the stadium and the finish - dropping the 300m gained. Waterpoints are plentiful, and sponging stations will be positioned between them. Points will have water and Coca Cola, and will be in contact with Race Organisers. Each race sponsor will have an additional waterpoint at the end of their finish tunnel. Ambulances will be placed centrally, and Police and marshals will fully control the route. Cut-off time for both races is 12:30.
